Here Comes the Sun
We present this innovative project developed by the University of Rome Tor Vergata. Here Comes the Sun (HCTS) is a mini-series of five short episodes. It narrates, in accessible language for non-experts, a hypothetical near future: What would happen to our technological civilization if a superflare of incredible intensity occurred on the Sun?

The objective of this project, whose writing style lies somewhere between science and science fiction, is to underline the impact of Space Weather on our daily lives. Additionally, the audience will gain insight into how the European Solar Telescope can contribute to understanding the source mechanisms of such extreme events.
EPISODES
All episodes of the miniseries were originally recorded in Italian, but are also available with English subtitles.
EPISODE 1: THE SUPERFLARE
The daily routine of a satellite control center is disrupted by an alarm. Andrea observes something strange on the Sun. Letizia has to find out if the two events are connected by talking to some experts.EPISODE 2: A CALL FROM CANARY ISLAND
Letizia and Lorenza are distracted: will the super flare hit the Earth? They decide to call Francesco and discover that there is important news from the solar observatories of the Canary Islands!EPISODE 3: THE TUNNEL
At the end of the second episode, Letizia left to deliver the data to Luca, who cannot be reached by telephone. Only by using his model and Dario's data will we understand if the Earth will be affected by the consequences of the superflare!EPISODE 4: UNDER THE MOUNTAIN
Letizia and Lorenza are distracted: will the super flare hit the Earth? They decide to call Francesco and discover that there is important news from the solar observatories of the Canary Islands!EPISODE 5: THE TELESCOPE
Letizia and Luca arrive at the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei summoned by Francesco. There is a plan to monitor and predict the Sun's behavior in the future, what will it consist of?
Shooting "Here Comes the Sun"
The production lasted for over one and half years. Filming lasted 10 days, distributed over several months, including 5 people from the technical crew, the actress Alessandra Della Guardia and six researchers and students from Tor Vergata University.
